Accueillons donc Tanja 🙂

I’ve started to follow Tanja (@adorerdj) on twitter after a #followfriday. When we first discussed, if I remember correctly, it was about King’s last book. We did not totally agree on it, as Tanja stopped to read it one year ago and, at that point, I was still thinking this was the great comeback for the author. But that’s another story. Wanting to get out of France for my Et toi, tu lis quoi ? section, I picked Tanja as my first foreigner participant. And it seems that I’ve chosen a perfect participant for that as Tanja is German, leaving in Sweden and reading a French author in Swedish…
When I asked her if she wanted to answer my few questions, in like a minute she said yes, because “I love books and read loads”. Let’s welcome Tanja 🙂

What are you reading Tanja? / Tu lis quoi Tanja ?

I’m reading Sarahs Nyckel (Sarah’s Key) by Tatiana de Rosnay. (Note: in the meantime, Tanja finished the book and loved it. On twitter she said that it was “wonderful, couldn’t put it down but so heartbreaking…”)

Where did you get the idea to read this book? / Mais d’où t’es venue l’idée de lire ce lire ?

It was a present from a friend.

C’était le cadeau d’un ami.

What was your previous book? / Ton livre précédent ?

Kalte Asche (Written in bone) by Simon Beckett.

Poussière d’os de Simon Beckett.

3 books to take on a desert island or 3 most loved books / Trois livres à emmener sur une île déserte ou les trois livres préférés

On a desert island I would take ‘The complete works of Shakespeare’, ‘The complete works of Agatha Christie’ and the biggest encyclopedia there is ‘cos I love to read them and for the volume…. My three most loved books are probably Jane Eyre, Out of Africa and something by Ruth Rendell (can’t choose).

Horn or bookmark? / Corne ou marque-ta-page ?

Horn, never have a bookmark on hand when I need it.

Do you prefer paper books or ebooks? / Plutôt livre papier ou livre numérique ?

The real thing no doubt.

Le papier, sans aucun doute.

Something more to share with us? / Quelque chose à ajouter ?

I read mostly thriller or crime but also love classic English literature and Chekhov… if anyone ever sees me reading one of those awful love/romance novels you get in most supermarkets they have the order to kill me ‘cos something has gone terrible wrong… tendency to feel sick when I just hear the name Rosamunde Pilcher (sorry to all her fans out there)… desperately waiting for Sam Neill to write a book (doubt it’s going to happen) but will survive on his blog until then…

First thing first, if there is any mistake in the translation, it is obviously my bad, since the interview took place entirely in English. If you speak English, German or even Swedish, I invite you to follow Tanja on twitter. Thank you to Tanja for her answers and sharing many nice emails 🙂
